Paris, 19 October 2021 — AVIWEST, one of the world’s leading providers of IP-based video contribution systems joins forces with Newsbridge’s cloud-based media valorization platform powered by AI to deliver a revolutionary live production workflow solution for TF1 Group.
AVIWEST’s StreamHub control and live stream hosting combined with Newsbridge’s cloud video tools and native Multimodal Indexing AI technology offers a unique solution for media and sports rights-holders, journalists, production and editorial teams alike to boost their ‘ground to cloud’ media value chain.
Receiving up to 16 concurrent incoming streams from remote units, AVIWEST’s StreamHub solution allows video content to be freely distributed to virtually any IP network. Simultaneously, it is able to manage missions and metadata to guarantee a seamless integration with Newsbridge’s post-production workflow that includes but is not limited to: a built-in live production studio, smart asset management and semantic search (cross-analysis of facial, object, scene and context recognition) cloud video tools, annotations, thesaurus and multi-audio management. Additionally, an AWS collaborator, Newsbridge’s AI-Based video indexing MAM platform leverages both Newsbridge’s native Multimodal AI technology and the scaling capacity of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Computing Services.
For more than 4 years, as part of a transformation initiative, TF1 Group has aimed to stimulate an environment of open innovation. Working with hundreds of hours of news and sports-oriented media assets and live recordings, the group’s editorial teams were in need of a solution to work more quickly and efficiently, spanning from content acquisition to auto-indexing and retrieval.
After adopting the integrated solution, TF1 editorial teams experienced a significant reduction in content search and selection time in addition to an uptick in content quality due to the Newsbridge platform’s native semantic search and Multimodal Indexing AI along with AVIWEST’s deep understanding of their equipment and easy integration with their HE4000 UHD/multi-HD video encoder set. This combined expertise drastically speeds up content procurement, derushing and archiving tasks while also creating new ways to browse, sort and search through hours of video content via Multimodal AI.
With direction from TF1’s Media Factory Deputy Director, Yves Bouillon, the integrated solution has since allowed TF1’s editorial teams to save hours of time.
“In general, when we choose a tool, we are always keeping in mind how it is positioned toward the future. AVIWEST and Newsbridge’s combined solution allows us to record on the cloud and makes complete sense. Using just a laptop and an internet connection, our journalists can immediately (at the beginning of a recording) look through images…and choose the best moments using cognitive analysis.”
-Yves Bouillon, Deputy Director of TF1’s Media Factory
